Aideen Curtin is the CEO and a founding Director of Progressive Vision, Ireland’s leading private ophthalmology clinic group, established in 2010. With responsibility for general operations, strategic planning, financial oversight, and staff recruitment, Aideen has been instrumental in building Progressive Vision into a trusted name in high-quality eye care.

She holds a degree in Microbiology from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in Biochemistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Before founding Progressive Vision, Aideen worked in clinical trial management with Hoechst Marion Roussel (now part of Sanofi), gaining extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both Ireland and the United States.

Under Aideen’s leadership, Progressive Vision has grown to a team of 45 dedicated professionals across two purpose-built clinics in Sandyford and Swords. Mr. Mohamed El Morsy is a consultant eye surgeon with an interest in General Ophthalmology. He graduated from Cairo University in 1983, with MSc in 1990 and MD in 1995. Earned FRCS (Ophth) Edinburgh in 1998. Began practicing in Ireland in 1999 at Waterford Regional Hospital, later working in Mater, Galway, and RVEEH, where he served as Clinical Fellow from 2005 to 2007. Mohamed held a substantive Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon post in Sligo University Hospital (2008–2013), before relocating to Abu Dhabi until 2022. He is currently practicing at Progressive Vision since October 2022, with special interests in medical retina, cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastics.

Dr. Fiona D’Arcy is a eye doctor who graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2003. Fiona has completed fellowships in medical retina at the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital in Dublin, and paediatric ophthalmology at Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin.  Fiona’s interests include medical ophthalmology, cataract, glaucoma, cornea and paediatric ophthalmology.

Ms Clare Quigley is a Consultant Eye Surgeon with an interest in cataract and oculoplastic surgery. Clare qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2014.   She completed her ophthalmic surgical training in Ireland and was awarded the highest overall score in the European Board of Ophthalmology diploma in 2021.

Clare then undertook 18 months of oculoplastic fellowship training.  She completed oculoplastic fellowship training in James Cook University Hospital, UK, including working as a consultant oculoplastic surgeon in the NHS.  Clare was then awarded the prestigious Oculoplastic Fellowship in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia. Clare lectures on the Genomic Medicine MSc in Trinity College Dublin.

Rachel is the Clinic Manager at Progressive Vision Swords, a state-of-the-art clinic that opened in late 2024. With over 18 years of experience in optics, she has held a variety of positions including Dispensing Assistant, Lab Technician, and Management roles. Optics has always been Rachel’s passion, and she couldn’t imagine working in any other industry.

Katie qualified as an Optometrist from DIT Kevin Street in 2017. During her time working in her home country of Canada, Katie gained valuable experience and appreciation of clinical Optometry. Katie joined Progressive Vision after graduating. She has enjoyed working within a shared care setting and is now the Senior Optometrist within Progressive Vision. Katie has a particular interest in retinal disease and has started a PhD at Trinity College Dublin focusing on the subject.

Eveleen qualified as an optometrist from the Technological University Dublin in 2014 with a first class honours degree in Optometry. She was awarded the Harte Barry Optometry prize. Eveleen was also awarded a scholarship to complete her supervised clinical placement at the University of Houston, College of Optometry in Texas, USA. Eveleen spent a number of years since qualifying, working in many different retail optometric practice settings before joining Progressive Vision. She has a particular interest in clinical optometry and gaining experience working alongside ophthalmologists in a shared care setting. Eveleen also works part-time at Technological University Dublin, as a clinic supervisor, tutor and assessor of undergraduate optometry students.  Eve is our specialist in Dry Eye conditions and currently oversees our dedicated Dry Eye Service.

Emma is dedicated to her passion for paediatric eye care and currently operates a clinic focused on young patients.

Eleanor qualified as an optometrist from TU Dublin Kevin’s Street in 2021. Eleanor has previous experience working in optometric practice and is passionate about continuing her education in a clinical setting. Eleanor has a strong interest in Ophthalmology and plans to study graduate medicine in September 2022 while gaining experience in her role with Progressive Vision.

Aíne joined the Progressive Vision team in 2016 and trained specifically for the role of Eye Technician. Aíne’s enthusiasm to learn this new skill has proved a success. Having trained previously in nursing and working with the elderly, Aíne possessed the qualities needed for this role to understand the needs of our patients. Over the years she had gained a wealth of knowledge having worked in the Diabetic Retina Screen program and in our ophthalmic practice.

Ciara graduated from Maynooth University in 2003 with a BA honours degree and went on to study photography in Marino Institute in 2005.Ciara was introduced to the world of retinal photography in the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital and it was there that she acquired specialised skill set through on the job training. After many years Ciara became a proficient Eye photographer and has also been involved in research.

Ciara now works with Progressive Vision. She enjoys her work and finds it rewarding to know that she plays a part in helping people maintain their sight, which is so precious.

Catherine joined our Eye Technician team in 2022. She graduated from SETU having completed her BSc in Applied Healthcare.

Joshua worked for five years at the Department of Health Eye Centre in the Philippines as an ophthalmic technician, gaining extensive experience in eye care and patient management.

Orla holds a Higher Certificate in Diabetic Retina Screening from the University of Gloucester, a Professional Diploma in Positive Health and has just completed her MSc in Positive Health Coaching from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

Anne is an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse with a special interest in research. Anne works as part of our procedures team and also on our research projects where she is responsible for ensuring that we meet our research targets.

Colette joined Progressive Vision in 2022 and works on our procedures clinics. Outside of work Colette does considerable charity work both in Dublin and the Ukraine.

Sophie joined Progressive Vision in 2022 and provides front desk support for our patients.

Mollie loves meeting and greeting patients and ensuring they are comfortable and well looked after. She is particularly excited to be training up as a technician and to be getting more involved in the care of our patients.

Ciara is a member of our Patient Engagement Team and coordinates all surgeries and procedures.

Susan is a member of our Patient Engagement Team. Susan provides excellent patient support, helping resolve queries and putting patients at ease.

Danielle is a member of our Patient Engagement Team. Danielle has over 11 years experience in patient eye care scheduling and coordination.

Alison is Progressive Vision’s Financial Controller.

Amy assists with surgery scheduling, clinic appointments and patient queries.
