Progressive Vision Supports Orbis Ireland’s Eye Care for All Campaign this October

At Progressive Vision, our commitment goes beyond caring for our patients here in Dublin. This October, we are once again proud to partner with Orbis Ireland as part of their annual Eye Care for All Campaign – a nationwide effort to raise awareness of avoidable blindness and to fund vital eye care projects in Ethiopia.

Why This Campaign Matters

Four out of five cases of vision loss worldwide are preventable. In Ethiopia, something as simple as a €15 surgery can restore someone’s sight. Yet without timely treatment, children are two to five times less likely to attend school, and adults may lose the ability to work and provide for their families.

That’s why, throughout October, Orbis Ireland and partners across the country are uniting to make sight-saving interventions possible. This year’s campaign aims to deliver:

• Over 560 sight-saving surgeries
• More than 560 pairs of prescription glasses
• Training for over 200 local eye care professionals in Southern Ethiopia

These efforts ensure not only immediate care but also the development of long-term, sustainable eye health services in the communities that need them most.

Progressive Vision’s Ongoing Support

As long-time supporters of Orbis Ireland, Progressive Vision’s clinics in Sandyford and Swords are proud to continue playing our part in this life-changing campaign. This October we will:

• Donate €10 from every cataract surgery performed in our clinics directly to Orbis Ireland.
